On this matter, online culture will have an increasing impact for the foreseeable future. Obviously this has implications for the question of "philosophy online," as well. More of this anon.

You can indeed be "tuned in" to the posts by choosing an option under "subscribe" (at the top of the blog). The conversation began with my saying the following:

------------

The Good is above the True, Oh Sokrates. In the vernacular, this means sell the sizzle, not the steak. The True is not fit for any human world. Farabi showed us the way when he said that political philosophy (as discovered by Plato) was finished but that speculative philosophy (as started by Aristotle) had just barely begun. Every City is based on a smidgen of Truth (if that) and a boatload of sizzle. But that sizzle allows Sizzleization (oops, I mean civilization) to continue and that, in turn, allows philosophy to continue.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year (you see how politically incorrect I remain!)

Joe

PS. I've bookmarked your blog. Is there any way you can send a headsup when you put something new there?Joe Pomonomohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15799366948466532024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1651908162607091292.post-62552931953686355372009-12-29T16:08:58.945-08:002009-12-29T16:08:58.945-08:00It's about time. It's about time.limeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09778969220804483208noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1651908162607091292.post-69477975123653379092009-12-28T09:59:13.881-08:002009-12-28T09:59:13.881-08:00Much looking forward to this!
